Code 34-MAF Sensor

The service engine soon light on my wife's 89 RS 2.8 has been coming on every now and again for about a month. It's maybe come on 3 or 4 times. So I did a tune up on it.Oil change, air filters, spark plugs, fuel filter, cap and rotor.Light just came on again today and after searching this site I did the paper clip trick and pulled a code 34.I'm not going to have time to work on it till the weekend so my question is what can happen over the next 4 or 5 days with leaving things as they are?

Nothing. Your engine will just fill in the information gaps missing from the MAF and keep running. Although it would be wise to fix it. When I finally fixed my MAF problem, my backfire went away and I regained some power. Check all the connections and the relay (relay should be located by the battery, at least it is on my '86) before you replace the MAF.

I suggest you do NOT get a remanufactued one. The first one I got went bad in a month. I'm on the second one and even it isn't very good. That reminds me... was going to call GM today about a new one....
