MSD Coil Question
When looking online at MSD's website I couldn't figure out all the specs on there coils.
Here's an example of the Blaster GM Coil PN8226.
Primary Resistance: 0.45 Ohms
Secondary Resistance: 5.5K Ohms
Maximum Volts: 48,000
Inductance: 7mH
Turns Ratio: 85:1
Peak Current: 220mA
Spark Durration: 250 Us
I will be using the stock distributor (at least for now), Autolite double platinum plugs, ACCEL 8.8mm spark splug wires, and ACCEL cap and rotor. I was told you need spark plug wires with low resistance in Ohms but I don't know what number is low and I couldn't find out how many Ohms of resistance my wires have.
I'm up for using any brand of ignition coil and want one that's not going to burn up with alot of street use because this is not going on a dedicated strip car. I looked at Hypertech's coil but the web page didn't give the Part number for one that would fit my 1991 Camaro V6. Thanks for all the help in advance!

i am running the msd coil on my car. i have accel 8mm wires. they seem to be fine. i have burned up a couple of rotors in the distributor though. i don't know if it was directly related to the coil or not but, stock type ones didn't last more than a few months. now, i'm running a msd cap and rotor also.

I the conrad cap and rotor form AZ i think they changed the name but it has brass and is there higher end cap and rotor kit never had a problem with it. Your wires should be more then fine i run 8mm MSD wires.

i went through conrad's cap and rotors too. i didn't really expect to cause i heard that it was the same stuff as msd but, it didn't work for me.

i thought it was the other way around. but, either way, the two supposedly are tied together somehow.
