IAT Question
My room mate mentioned something about wiring in a resistor in place of the IAT to tell the engine the perfect temperature permenantly that some gains can me had from that. Anyone know anything about this and what resistance the engine calls perfect?
edit: he said "it tricks the computer into doin either air/fuel and/or timing changes" He said probally not much of a gain, but to find out more about it.
BTW I finally got a clutch and some other parts for my car so it should be running semi soon

don't bother, it's stupid. By using the IAT, thecomputer automatically compensates for the air that is actually coming in. if you put a resistor in, you are setting the engine to run at a certain air temp, now if the air temp is higher than the resistor says it is, then you'll constantly be rich, and if the temp is lower, then you'll always be lean. It's a waste of time.

I wasnt really lookin to do it lol but i was just seeing what people think about it. My friend called my room mate ghetto for brining up the suggestion which kinda pissed me off because his car has like 1500 in exhaust work, 600 or so in intake. No short cuts taken lol.
So he's not like that, he was just mentioning that he's heard of it
