Man i am at wits ends i have had this car in two shops and more money down the toilet... car starts hard in the morning but onces it starts it run fine. after i drive it for a few miles and turn it off it will crank but will not start. Now here the kicker it does not do this all the time. i have replaced the EGR value, Fuel pump and filter, Distrubiter and guts, MAF, wires plugs oh and the injectors. and now i got the idle too high and can not turn it down without lacking power as if i could spare that (2.8))) lol.. anyone got help or know whom might please help i love this car i do not want to move on...

So the starter runs but the engine won't start? I'm assuming no codes, since you didn't mention the SES light at all.

Did you replace the coil? It is right over the exhaust, if it is weak it will work when cold, die when hot. Will even show a good spark if you check it (weak or no spark when firing the plug in the cyl). You don't even have to remove the old coil to try a new one. just wire one in and mount it to the firewall.

Clean the throttle body and IAC?

edit:what do you mean by "distributor and guts"?

Your problem is so simple
Your timing chain is shot, the ditsb is cranked too high for the engine to restart after it's been previous ignited.
This happens often when one tries to band aid a worn chain by advancing the distb too far.
Replace timing chain & then your car will be fine as will the idle.
Doubt me?
Try this test.
Get a 17mm socket. Place on end of crank/balancer.
Pop off distb cap. Look at rotor.
Move the crank,
See how long it takes to move the distb rotor.
You'll see it takes about a inch plus of balancer movement to move the rotor on the distb.
This "test", is supposed to move the rotor "instantly", just so ya know....
