Gettin' rid of digital egr
Has anyone gotten rid of thier digital egr on the 3.1 V6?I want to take it off and wondered if there are any success stories?Any engine performance problems?Any what to do to keep it from coding a 32.

well, to keep from getting a code 32 you'll have to reprogram the ECM. You might actually get poor perfromance going from cruise to WOT because when you're cruising, the ECM advances the hell out of the timing to get better milage, but open s up the egr to help cool things down and stop pinging. Once you get rid of the EGR, it might start to ping a little(you won't notice, but the knock sensor will) and the ECM will start knocking back the timing until the knock goes away. So you MIGHT be looking at worse hwy milage and degraded performance right when you get on it.

you can always bypass the knock sensor too!
i have no egr. i 'blocked' the code 32 with a custom chip. i get about 26 mpg cruising on the interstate...far from stock motor.
