Since youre the 3.4l swap expert, i was wondering if you knew of any decent 3.4's down there in so-cal. i live up north of sacramento, which means there arent really any 3rdgens here(mine was one of like 3 in the local paper over the space of a year when i bought it). I am coming down to irvine the weekend of the 22nd however, and if you happened to find something down there before then, i could pick it up on the way back. I cant expect you to take time out of your life to find me an engine, but if you happened to come across one in the next two weeks, and you told me about it, thatd be pretty sweet. I'm gonna try looking around sacramento and maybe the bay area too, but in the past i havent had any luck there. In return I think i can safely say i wont have to ask you any questions on the swap, it must get rather tedious answering the same 10 questions over and over again.

thanks a ton if you can help at all, im still juggling which things im gonna do to my car this summer, and if i can find a decent 3.4 id much rather swap it now than when im down in college.(i have other vehicles available now, not so in college).

Please have read the tech install thread (2.8->3.4 Long Block Swap Boogie) and help yourself to understand what is necessary, especially for a CA easy PROPER!!! smog swap. I've been thru three CA Test Only smogs & passed each one, properly!!!!

 

IF ya want a tranny rebuild, proper, I got a guy down here, too.
But yes, ya gotta leave the tranny.
And you do have the right core for a rebuild.
You have the strongest V6 version before electronics in trannys.
I upgraded to your year tranny.

heh, my year may have had the best non-elec 700r4, but its still a 700r4, all four tranny's that have been in this car had their 3-4 clutch packs burn out prematurely. . thats why im t-5'in it(acutally not really, im going manual because its just so much more fun).

 

I have awalys had those clutch packs die on me too 4 times if i remeber correctly.

 

If ya got that much range of cash to spend you give a shout.
I'll supply ya with guys number & ya can chat with him
Tell him your price range & in a day or so he'll give ya options.
Don't waste his time with "tons of questions", cause he is supplying you with a fully dress complete 3.4 mill, long block.
Try to also get the PS pump & also starter so ya got spare parts for future.
Ya seek a low milage 3.4 which means 40-60,000 range.
Believe me when I say he supplies extremly clean objects.
I've bought two 3.4s & bought other engines from him, too.
He's a great source for reliable engines with a 30 day warranty.

Again last one spoke to him about (about 2 plus months ago), it took several days of awaiting to hear that he had a 50,000 mile used 3.4 engine for

$950.00. Plus tax.
