every time i turn on my A/C my compressor starts to sqeal. when im driving it its fine. but when i come to a stop or let it idle it will start sqealing. It still blows cold air cause i recently recharged the system. Do you think my compressor is bad? I am out of ideas, thanks

 

Hold old is the belt?

 

the belts old. I was told by somone and old lose belt would cause it to squal. so you think it might be my belt?

 

Could be. When you turn on the a/c it increases the load on the belt.
This is what the belt on my van was doing. I replaced it and the squealing stopped.
