my first move would be to post this in the drivetrain forum, secondly try sticking something into the hole the top of the pumpkin and see how much is in there like that, I used 2 full bottles to fill my rear when it was low.

urgent response needed!!
ok here!! i got a better idea of what is happining here...
first of all since i jave put the new fluied in i have found out where it is leaking from>> its coming from behind the yolk that the drive line is connected to {the yolk that the carrier barrings bolt to}
now what i could realy use right now is a diagram of what is behind that yolk,.,.this way i could see what is behind that yolk like i know there is a seal but that could not possibly be whats causing all that noise right?? \
Is there berrings behind the seal??

My learnings is that the oil in the rear end should be full enough that with the car sitting level, you can stick your pinky in the hole and touch the oil.
If not, its low.

diagrams....... diagrams.........
i do understand better with visual aids ....lol i am confused of the names of these differential parts ..... for example /./ the yoke from the difff is where i am leaking fluied ,,,, so what i need to know is how to get the yoke out and new seal or bearing replacement for that area...... i do not what to have to take the cover off or even drop the rear end for that matter.... just want to replace the parts im talking about..............
also regurarding the bearing or seal that im talking about ,,,, a broken or worn out seal / bearing from the yoke cause a grinding type of whine???????????

Fill the differential till the oil starts running out of the hole and then screw the plug back in. If that doesn't help, it's to late. Start looking for another rear end in the salvage yard to replace it. If it does help, get the pinion seal replaced.
I had the same thing happen to my formula. The pinion seal went bad and threw 80-90 all over the underbody and the exaust pipe. Eventually, the pinion bearing went bad and starting making all kinds of noise. I got another one at the salvage yard for $I20 bucks. Make sure you get the same gear ratio rearend if you replace it or you'll throw everything off as far as the computer is concerned (speed limiter).

I would start to tell people you want cash for christmas or car parts. Your rear end is gone.
it would have to be dry for some time to wear out your yoke bearings and seal.
Good to get some fluid in it for the time but I wouldn't bother doing very much but start looking for a new one.
problem is a low or even near dry rear end will work and not make obvious noise until its to late.
