Idle speed

Ok so I just changed my cap/rotor and I saw a change in my idle RPMs. Before it was just above 500 and now it is at/near 1000.
Just wondering if this is normal after the cap/rotor change. Thanks for any info.

It dosent seem bad. The car actually feels like its working smoother.
When I got the rotor off, had to break it to get it off, there was a groove in the shaft. In the new rotor there was a notch to go in the shaft. So it went back in the exact place the old rotor was.
It was just such a change I wanted to make sure I didnt do anything wrong.
