aftermarket parts
well i did a 3.4l swap on my firebird (the kde version) and im wondering if i were to buy aftermarket parts for it, should i look for ones for the 2.8l. or the newer 3.4l parts?

a lot of the parts are interchangable, im not 100% sure on all of this but if its internal engine parts ie pistons etc go 3.4, the cams etc all seem to be interchangeable between the engines. im assuming you used the 2.8 top end? so go with 2.8 parts in that area. i guess it just depends on the part in question, and how you built the motor....

you would get headers for a 2.8, not the 3.4, they are routed differently on the fourth gen. cars. the only difference between a 2.8 or 3.4 cam design is the area at the front of the cam for the cam sensor, which you dont need, so and 2.8/3.1 cam will fit. rocker arms/springs/valves/ and pretty much the whole top end is interchangable, the bottom end IE pistons and rings and stuff is strictly 3.4, im not sure about a shift kit, but it will really help out, i think theyre the same as a v8 700r4 shift kit
