speed limiter
hey i cant get the car over 122-125 mph,do the maf cars have a speed limiter,or am i just having a problem with my turbo.the car pulls hard all the way there.but then it just hangs around, fells liek the car noses over pretty hard around 120.i know i have the vvs on the back of the cluster is there anyway to unhook it and leave the speeedo working or does the ecm need the vss for the motor to run right

if the speed limiter is the problem, you'll need to chip it out. no vss will light the SES light and probably put you into limp mode.

Depamding on what tranny you have dissconnecting the speedo will mess up the shift points and it would work properly.. ( That is this is the 700R4 tranny )

The VSS has nothing to do with the shifting of the 700R4 trans. It will affect the TCC lockup. Which in drag racing, unless there is a TCC installed for that duty, is best left unlocked.
Most calibrations will force lock the TCC around 80-90 MPH. This is cal dependent so there is no solid answer here.
The speed limiters are also calibration dependent. Some MY vehicles have them, others do not. I know for fact that the '92 MY AZTY calibration is set for 115/112 MPH (off/on). I also know that w/o this limit the vehicle will pull to a higher MPH.
Note that there is also an engine RPM limiter. Again, AZTY, it is set for 6,212 RPM.
