2.8v6 questions on just home upgrades...

does any one know if there is a way to bore out the 2.8 top plenum and bottom ?? and if so would there be a way to bore the intake also like now its orig. with the square holes as you all know if i was to take it to a machine shop and get it half rounded out would it cause problems at all to like seals and ect.. leaking probs because i cant remember who on this site had it but they said they bored a top and bottom plenum but since it all run the same all the way down to the intake wondering if its possible to bore port n polish

?? any thoughts on any power difference ??

you cant make the ports round, there just isnt enough material to do it. and from what ive found on the intake manifold base, porting that, before doing the plenums, isnt a good idea. yeah theres more to flow air through, but im starting to find that just doing that is gonna kill velocity, which i think is my problem. i did that last winter. so im going to put a stock manifold base back on and port the upper and lower plenum and see how that goes.

as far as power gains (if any), cant tell ya, but as i do this over the next month and a half ill post cfm flow numbers on my post.

oh you dont want to polish the intake either, only the exhaust and CC.

you can have them rounded somewhat, but remember you have to leave some material there and if you go too big youll lose velocity which will decrease hp. so bigger isnt always better. just because theres more cfm, doesnt mean more hp. but yes, you CAN have all 3 intake parts ported if you want to.
