i've been gone for a while...need a little help
Had been gone for so long becuase of work/school/and everything else...also the car had been running pretty well, and when something came up, it was something i had already experienced before. Neway, small issues have arose again, here goes.
few months back car had MAF problems, tapped on the unit, car would hesitate and stutter and try to crap out. Bought new unit, replaced, problem gone. Several weeks later throws an MAF related code (might have been low vac, or high vac, can't remember. so 33/34) Unfortunately i had just gotten a job back in my home city and needed to get back for training emmediately, had to leave the car in my lil' college town for the better part of 3 months. went back to visit once, car started (on crappy old batter) which was amazing, wouldn't idle for a damn, or antyhing else. Went back second time, car started again, eventually found an idle, and everything seemed alright.
Well, i trailered her back home and have been working on getting the car going again, replaced the old shot battery, and checked for codes (which were long gone by now) car was still having trouble w/ idle, don't know if it'll continue to have trouble with that here in the future or not, but we'll see, doesn't have any right now. Heard vacuum leaks eveyrwhere (partially from my 4th gen dash hvac probs) and some from under the hood. Car also had sponge and almost non-existant brakes under certain circumstances, i disconneted the HVAC controls that were vacuum controlled from the firewall (no leak there anymore) and found a cracked t fitting and replaced it also. hissing is now gone, so...do you think the problem with the code was more vacuum related (there were some leaks before hand also) or ... is it MAF related?
Car seems to drive ok, gonna mess around w/ disconnecting and plugging some other vac lines to see if i can notice improvements or problems with the brakes, and then try to get the car running right so it'll be halfway reliable transportation to work. thanks.
