will 2.8 from camaro fit in a S-10 with 2.8??

My uncles 2.8 in his S-10 locked up and I cannot seem to find a 2.8 from a truck but there are a few from camaros around here.

Ths truck is a 92 TBI 5 speed. Will i need a motor from a 5 speed? Will it bolt right in?

thanks

Yes it will work fine, they are the same long block.

Just swap over the S-10 specific parts, like intake, oil pan maybe different along with the front cover.

Also make sure you use the correct flywheel/flexplate with the new engine. There was a change in '87 from external balance to internal balance.

The base timing cover is the same, but the waterpump is different.

He could also install a 3.1 or 3.4 in it, would just have to bump up the fuel pressure. I use to own an s10 and installed a 3.4 init, so if you need help, gimmie a pm.

i have a couple if you need one but a camaros will work but you need to change the oil pan, oil pump pick up tube, intake manifold, and valve covers
