okay I have a 2.8L with a carb. Well this is how it goes I go to start the car its prob 20 deg it starts right up I give it a little gas RPMS were under 500 getting ready to die I give it gas and it studers really bad it kills over wont start again flooded out came out today started right up pulled it out did some burnouts on the ice let it sit then RPMS drop and it dies wont start again. I think its the carb because its not the best was giving me starting probs all year and I brought my car into the shop to fix trans line and they said my carb was shot and should not be driving it in the winter LOL but was running good before I parked it for a week or so. If its not the carb could it be something else?

Probley the carb
I belive you have a problem with the carb, i would just go but a rebuild kit (if trying to save money) and rebuild it. I you want to spend a little go get an aftermarket, it'll be worth it.
But to me sound like a bowl might have a problem mine did a similar. Except the bowl would get stuck and then woudent run. It look like old faithful shooting gas up out of the carb.

Got it started but when giving it to much gas it dies out while giving it gas black smoke comes out the rear witch means the carb is going bad. I already have a carb got from the junkyard looks newer its clean but it looks a little diff it came out of a S10 2.8L.
LOL that must of been fun.
