Carb for 83' V6
Hey guys, do any of you have a cheap carburator that will fit on a 83' Camaro 2.8? I need a new one, mine has a crack in it :\ i just got the car as a spare, and would like to drive it some.
I will also be posting in the engine parts section about wanting one!
cheap = cheap... as cheap as i can get.
thanks!

Sorry, I don't have one. I may be able to help you, though.
You may have noticed That you have a two stage two barrell carburetor. It should be a Rochester vari-jet. Here's some other applications for your junkyard hunting:
82-84 Camaro, Firebird, and S-10 2.8 V6(obviously)
80- 84 Chevy/GMC full size pickup with 250 (4.1 liter) inline 6
78-84 Isuzu cars and pickups with 1800 and 2000 cc engines
If you get one before 1981 it will have no computer controls. 81 and newer have electronic mixture control valves.
Most of these will fit and you can just take the jets out of yours and put them in the one that you get from the yard.
Good luck!

Re: Carb for 83' V6
thanks
can anyone tell me if any of these (from ebay, not for spamming purposes... moderators :P) are good for what i need?

i already have a carb and rebuild kit for the one i have... it's just cracked. anyways, which would be the best bet? it's just a beater, nothing special... but i don't want it messing up on me. the edelbrock one is the whole intake and everything, but i don't want that... it would be nice, but bleh
the 2 cheap ones are direct bolt on's (from the looks)

Re: Carb for 83' V6
I would go with one of the last 3 - the bolt on carbs. Of those I would bid on both of the cheap used ones that purportedly ran before they were pulled.
Always good to have a spare!
I am partial to the used ones that ran because they have had "real world" testing on them! Rebuilt ones that have not been tested always scare me but I am sure it is fine.
