HELP... im lost with the sensors

Ok there are two circular hole son the top of the engine to the bottom right of the throttle... One is for the temp sending unit (that on has a oval connector) Which hole does that one go in? Also, what sensor goes in the other hole (square connector) No parts store nor the haynes manual know what this sensor or whatever is... neither do i.

Ok i found out what it is.. temp sending unit... Its one blade connector, but yeah my car doesnt have a one blade connector anywhere around the place... so is there a single to double connector that im missing?

Re: HELP... im lost with the sensors

Temp sending unit on my car was in the head, behind the ac pump. Single blade.

CTS has a yellow wire, and black wire.

I think on the 2.8's, there was something in that hole for fans or cold start...

what color wires go to it?

Re: HELP... im lost with the sensors

That second hole is for the cold start temp switch. 88+ don't have a cold start injector, so you can just leave the switch in the hole. Should have purple and tan wires if you have one. Quick and easy, if your engine has a separate fuel line running out of the driver's side of the fuel rail, you have the CSI. If not, just stick the switch in the hole and leave it (get a switch from a junkyard or find a bolt to stick in there) so you don't have a coolant leak.

Also, the coolant temp sender and fan switch are located in the same place on each head. The sender is on the driver's side head in the front corner, right behind and under the A/C compressor, and the fan switch (if you have one) is in the same hole at the rear corner of the passenger's side head. Both are a pain to get at to replace...
