Electric Fuel Pump Conversion
Electric Fuel Pump Conversion
Heya!
Got my 83 V6 2.8 computer control carb'd Camaro running thanks to the help here with timing, however I've got another issue.
My mechanical fuel pump is leaking all over the place! Its spraying gas out the side, and it seems like its getting into the oil too!!!
I want to do away with it if I can for cheap, or, cheaper than buying a replacement mechanical pump. Does anyone have information on an electric fuel pump replacement for these cars? Who has done it, and what parts did you use?
Need some info
Thanks in advance!

Re: Electric Fuel Pump Conversion
Buy the universal in-line fuel pump from any of the auto parts stores. You want the low pressure (around 7 psi) version for carbureted engines. You can make the fuel pump block off plate from a piece of scrap aluminum and you can mount your pump somewhere near where your old one was.
Total cost of swap should be less than 50 bucks.
Good luck!
