Coolant Leak
Have you ever had a coolant leak you just couldn't find? I decided to tackle the problem once and for all. Removed the upper hose and started on the throttle body hoses. I yanked to remove the last hose and the connector that screws into the base of the thermostat housing comes apart. It is corroded beyond repair and a piece is stuck in the base of the thermostat housing. I am going to have to find a tap big enough to back out the remainder of the threads.
The connector that snapped feeds coolant to the throttle body and has a steel line that goes to the heater valve on the passenger side. I live in Central Florida so do I need to heat the throttle body? Will eliminating the steel line to the heater valve affect the operation of the heater? I would rather use a brass plug and get rid of the whole assembly.
Please advise.
