Re: Security Light????
Need more info... Does the car still start? The security light is linked to the VATS system. It could be a worn key, worn lock cylinder, etc... Usually if the light comes on and stays on the car won't start at all. When the key and lock start to wear you'll have intermittent problems. Sometimes a new key will fix it other times it requires both pieces be replaced. Or you can build a resistor pack and bypass the key all together.
Re: Security Light????
The light shouldn't come on unless there's a problem with the vats. I wouldn't give it too much thought till the car stops starting. You might cleaning the pellet on your key, trying another key if you have more then one available, or disconnect the battery for a minute or two and then reconnect to see if the problem goes away. Might not be a bad idea to read up on bypassing VATS and make yourself a resistor pack that you can use to bypass the key if it turns into a problem, so you don't end up stranded.
