Experience with Accel Injectors

I am looking into replacing my fuel injectors. I've read the ditch your stock injectors thread and I'm not convinced the ford injectors are the way to go. I'm not trying to turn my car into a hot rod, I just want something that will give me trouble free operation.

I'm looking at the 15lb Accel 150615. I've looked and I haven't found too much information about them.

Anyone that has used these particular fuel injectors please share your experience, good or bad.

FYI, the main reason I'm don't want to try the ford injectors is that I read they can make your car run a little rich. Is this the case? Currently my idle is already a little rich, so I want to avoid anything that would make it worse.

Re: Experience with Accel Injectors

my camaro came with those same injectors and always leaked and ran really rich and was hard to start and idled like crap. I replaced them with the ford injector from five o motorsport with the replacement injector, and now the car has really good low and mid range power, idles real smooth. i'm really happy with the up grade.

Also realize that I am in California. Passing smog is something else I am concerned with.
Has anyone had any issues with passing smog with the Ford or Accel injectors?

Re: Experience with Accel Injectors

that is what i put in the camaro was a set of taurus/t-bird/ranger injector, i cant remember if it was the 15 or 17# injector. all i know is that when i took the car to smog it passed with flying colors and the smog shop didnt even know i had ford injectors in it. i have a copy of the smog test but i cant figure out how to post it on the forum. i have the photobucket but i forgot how to use it. The part# F47e,F87e brand new $239.28 shipped to my house. The injector fit right in with out changing the o-rings.

Re: Experience with Accel Injectors

So I started looking into the Ford injectors and found something out.

I was looking up injectors for a 98 V6 Mustang and I noticed the Accel injectors they sell for the Mustang are the exact same ones they sell for our cars.

Then I remembered hearing that you need to use a thicker O-ring with the Ford injectors to prevent leaking. I also heard that the Accels leak right off the bat. I wonder if there is a connection here.

Just remembered something here since this is back up.

Ford has 2 different style injectors. Needle or disc. Make sure you get the disc.
