what is a "vac rec valve" ?

what is a "vac rec valve" ?

im reconnecting all the vacume lines on my 87 2.8 . on the sticker diagram on the hood there is a line going to the "vac rec valve" what is this valve does any one happen to have a picture of it so that i can find it and reconnect the line that goes to it ?

It's the "Vac Reg Valve" and it is the thing near the EGR valve that controls flow of engine ported vacuum to the valve. The inlet is at the bottom, and there needs to be a "T" somewhere in the top line running to the EGR valve so the sensor that is connected to the regulator valve knows whether the EGR valve is receiving engine vacuum or not.

It's also known as an Electronic Vacuum Regulator Valve, or EVRV...
