Transmission: 5 speed
Axle/Gears: ?
speed sensor

soo.. how much trouble are they to change.. since mine is throwing a vss code. now im getting a failed egr code also.

'89 Firebird, that one is probably at the transmission. If so it is rather easy to change. Jack up drivers side, put jackstands under frame rails, unplug connector (two wire), remove single bolt. Slide VSS out careful not to drop the gear off the end. Move gear to new VSS and reverse.

The VSS will be located on the tail shaft housing, drivers side. Right below the shifter.
