and heres the big bitch of a turbo

****ing housing was larger then the wone with the 67mm wheel so me and rob had to modify the turbo flange a lil to get the compressor housing to clear the tensioner

Wow, with that open header, it makes it sound like a big block. Very nice.

that video dosent do the sound justice, i wa sjoking around with rob saying i might have to ditch the turbo and go with a supercharger just so i can build long tube headers and have a true dual ex system

Haha, that would be different for a 2.8/3.1...

What I would give to have my Camaro sound like that...

its took almost 3 hours to drilt he housing.i went threw about 35 drill bits and 2 endmills

i had to weld up the housing were somone previously tried to drill it, and welded the broken bolt into the housing.

well when the housing cooled down the spot that i welded became so hard even carbide drills would barley go threw it. it really was a nightmare.

once i got a drill threw it i had to use a number drill set and enlarger the hole liek .010 ata time till i got it to the final size to be taped

the first drill i got threw it was a 1/16th carbide drill so i had to work my way up to .267 from there

Can't imagine what the looks on peoples' faces must be when you tell them your car is a 3.1L V6 and not some massive V8.

That sucks, there's a possibility mine is as well, but there's a bigger possibility it's just a head gasket.

yeah the gaskets always blow out eventually, copperseal has never failed me.

i use gaskets only on the headers,

oh no need for a presure tester, water pours out the back of the block as fast as i can dump it int he radiator, im pulling the trans tommorow to see if its a freeze plug or the block got split

How's your O2 sensor look? They say it's o2 safe but I'm still skeptical. Silicone is still silicone nomatter what else they put in with it. Let's hope it's only a freezeplug. What happened to the 4.3 you were planning on?

Re: new vid clips from today ( open headers and new turbo installed and running)

ok the verdict is cracked block
BUT its runnable

i blew the bottom freeze plug out of the rear of the block, and cracked the block inbetween cyls 4-6 and 3-5 right below the deck about 1/2 - 1 inch inch down from the block deck.

new freeze plug installed, tig welded the block up with nirod and put the trans back in. put a few leak stop tabs in the rad for good measure and i got 0 water leaks.

tyen i proceded to take the car out on the street and beat the **** out of it at 9 psi.

holy mother ****ing **** the car is unreal

videos of carnage and street runs and a flyby to be posted soon

I WILL BE DYNOING THE CAR TOMMOROW MORNING WOOOOOT

i have a spare block, but depending on what happens at the dyno tommorow will be the ultimate deciding factor if a swap my internals to a new block and keep the v6, or if i drop my 355 in and twin turbo that.

if i do do that u have first dibs on the turbo headers
