Is this intake worth it for my bird? It comes out to $54 shipped. Will I see any noticeable performance gains? Is this really any better than putting a K&N filter in my stock intake?
Thanks!

not worth, it, you could probably make it for cheaper and you won't see a big difference because it sucks from the stock location.

No, not worth it. They don't have a spot for the MAF sensor.. I bought a universal intake kit and just drilled a hole for the air temp sensor. It sits lower in the side fender so cold air does get to it, but it didn't make enough of a difference to justify all the work lol. slightly better throttle response.. slight..

Well with two "not worth it" responses, is a K&N filter in the stock intake worth it?

I tried a K&N and it wasn't worth the cost, I actually got better performance just using a new WIX filter and the oil also seemed a lot cleaner on the last change as a result. I am guessing the higher flow is at the cost of less filtration.

If possible you are better off getting a Dual Snorkel Air Intake w/the Air Filter box. Something like this.

Cut the bottom of the Air Filter box to allow more air in.

that intake on ebay is not even a cold air intake, its a low restrictive hot air intake. If your going to do something like that your going to need a way to get fresh air from outside in, or most people drill a hole on the passenger side where the battery was and duct it through there.

Didn't know that. Always thought the Firebirds had that.Originally Posted by sloick

Nope, Firebirds have to low a hood to fit that under there. Originally Posted by rsrsrs

It's well out of the way of the radiator and the air there is just about outside temp. The thing on ebay is a rip off, just shiny tubes and a cheap filter. If you want to have a good intake build this one:

I placed my filter in the fender and directed some ducting to force air to it. So as many of TGO guys deny it, mine IS a cold air intake.

Besides, if you find the right parts it doesn't cost much.
just that ebay kit is way overpriced. Then again i kinda took parts from my accord to fit it...
