Fan doesn't want to run and a transmission problem... Help?

Boy where to start, I have a 1986 Camaro 2.8L V6 (although we are not really sure about the 2.8L cause it seems a little too big for it so might be a 3.1L) first it had the problem of having no power at all, you would go 35Mph and after a sec it would die and not start anymore... that problem is solved it was the catalytic converter -.- I took it out and straight pipe it xD I don't have any business in CA anyway and in my state it is not illegal to not have it.

Now the fan doesn't want to run, I replaced the coolant sensor. No luck still doesn't want to turn on. When you ground the diagnostic terminal (B, A) the fan will kick on @.@

Now for the transmission (it's a 5 speed manual) When you try to shift gears the car stalls and jumps (the gears don't grind)... I tried several times, start it back up and take off no luck... But when I backed out the car out of the garage it didn't... Supposedly the clutch has been replaced,...

Any ideas on my problems

First lets talk about the fan. Im not sure exactly about the 85 but i will take a very good guess and say your computer isnt reading the sensor right....OR your computer needs to be readjusted. The fan is controlled by the sensor on the block(i forget which side does the fan(drivers maybe)...the sensor then tells the computer to turn the fan on(car is hot) and turn it off(car is cooling down).

Secound the trans. Do you know if the car was orginally an automatic and converted to a manual? This could be a computer problem also. Its a simple change out when you tune the computer.
