Ok were not getting enough people looking at the thread over in the DIY PROM section so hopefully i can "recruit" some people.

Ok guys over in the DIY PROM section i have a thread about a problem im having with connecting to my computer. Six_Shooter and myself are trying to either fix or build a new .ads file to work on the 91-92 f body car...well pretty much just the 730 ecm running the $88 mask. If you currently are tunning a car like this or want to get into tuning your car take a look at this(for the ppl that want to get into this, it might be a lil over your head but it will be a good oprotunity for you benefit from Six_Shooter and my efforts) Click the thread and just read through it please...

I have 92 3.1. when I first started I also had problems getting connections I ended up getting contacting moates ane he walked me threw changing the set up in my laptop after that it connected every time using different ads.

 

Do you remember what they had you change. The only two things i can think of are to update your drivers and to make sure your com port is corresponding correctly. I cant imagine anything else on the laptop needs to be changed

 

It had something to do the comp ports my laptop was set up to use. Just by changing the com port in tuner pro won't work.

Not sure what all you are looking to get here. I am taking an engine (3.1) from a 91 firebird and dropping it into a 90 jeep wrangler that currently has a 2.5 in it. The firebird has an automatic trans and the jeep has a manual trans. Mechanicaly, not much to it: Motor mounts, relocating a few odds and ins. Major issue for me is to take the engine wiring and ECU from the firebird and splice it into the jeep. Researching it is "FUN" Running down threads about VATS system and something about the engine not running because it had an auto trans attached. Anybody has info on this I would apprecciate the feedback I have manuals for both vehicles but they (as usual) see to lack some details about the wiring.

I'll have to hook my cable up to my car and see what i get. Last time I had problems logging was with my 88 Silverado. I had to change the com port in device manager as well.
