oil pressure sensor / fuel pump sensor

Today I went to replace the oil pressure sensor on my 92 rs
3.1 v6 the one that screws
Into the oil filer housing bc
it waz burned up bad !
I couldn't get it unplugged !
So I just cut the wires.
There where 3 wires
A orange one
A thin tan one
A grey one

The grey and tan one are together
the red is by itself !
So I got a replacement pigtail
Its all black and the colors don't match between
The car and the new plug/pigtail !
Does anyone a pic of the plug that goes into the sensor !
And what part of the fuel pump does this sensor control ?
Thanks again !

Re: oil pressure sensor / fuel pump sensor

Do you still have the old connector? Match the wires accordingly.

The OPS is a backup switch in the event that the fuel pump relay dies. If the relay dies, the fuel pump runs when the pressure switch senses enough oil pressure to close (about 15 PSI). The OPS also acts as the sending unit for the gauge or the switch for the idiot light in the dash.
