No start on 2.8L 88 firebird
No start on 2.8L 88 firebird
I'm looking for some help with my 1988 firebird. I know it will start and run. I have had it running twice now. Once when I replaced the throttle body assembly and once when I adjusted the idle set screw. Both times it ran fine and strong until I went to turn it off, the next day though the car would not start.
List of codes I am getting:
15- tempature coolant sensor circuit
34- MAF(for 89 and earlier v6es)
54- Fuel circuit something or other
What I've done so far to the car since I bought it.
-battery
-replaced front calipers and rear drums (needs brakes bled still)
-replaced fuel filter
-replaced damaged portion of the fuel line
-replaced fuel relay
-replaced MAF
-changed oil
-flushed radiator
-changed spark plugs and wires
-replaced throttle body (part stores didn't have a gasket so I improvised and made one from some kind of paper-like gasket material)
-replaced IAC
-replaced TPS
Fuel pressure seems ok at around mid 30s psi.
So knowing it will run I have to be close right? What it does now is it will turn over but no fire.
I scavenged some parts of a 86 2.8l camaro that I may need like:
-tranny cable that attaches to the throttle body (mine is busted)
-plenum top gasket
-throttle body gasket
-starter
-alternator
-seats (mine are bad)
So that's it. I made a similar post in my other thread but I thought it was getting over looked since it is more of a update thread.
I'm really hoping someone can help me out here. If I can't get it running I'm just going to have to sell it and recoop some of my money, since I need a car so I can get to and from work. Well heres hope'n
Thanks for reading my long post.
