Dumb question time

Ok i need someone to explian the third gens that came out. Heres what i need to know.

I have a 91 firebird WITH the ground effects (they look like the wrap back on themselves) it has a nose that is sleek I.E. no headlight slots that show rather they fully enclose into the nose. Now, i am assuming it is a Firebird T/A cuz it came from the factory with the ground effects, it also has 215/15/65 tires, t-tops, power windows, power locks, cruise control, hifi sterio, a/c and i think thats about it, dunno if that info was needed. Now, i have seen the firebirds without the ground effects, seen em with the funky headlights where there not flush with the hood. Whats the difference between the cars. Is one a T/A the other not? was this dictated by the ground effects? When did the headlight option come out and was it a option or by design? More curious then anything about it as i do see more with the non flush headlights and no ground effects then with. only 4 with em including me that i have seen in my area. Thanks guys....

Are you talking about your aerodynamic package? GM redesigned -all- Firebirds in 1991 to have the "aero package".

The headlights that are flush with the bumper are part of it too. Hm, what else, you probably have the large rear wrap-around spoiler, no black rub strips on the back bumper, and your blinkers are cut into the front of the front bumper.

like Tom said, the firebirds in 91 got a re-design. The removed the blackish gray bumperettes from the front and rear bumpers, the ground effects were an option, and also there were holes in the front of the bumper which held parking lights and driving lights(optional) the parking lights were now in the bumper rather than being up by the headlights. This made the headlights flush. But this doesn't make the car a Trans Am. for a Trans Am, it'll say Trans Am on the side, and will have a 5.0L or a 5.7L v8 under the hood. Trans Ams are the high performance model of the firebird.

heheheh welll they are... Tomp to answer your question no, i do not have rub strips on the bumpers they are like a molded plastic. The fog lights and turnsignals are tucked into the front bumper and the spoiler is not a wrap around, its a flat type thats not wrap around. ok, just wanted to know whats what
