REAR END CODES HELP!!!!!!!!!
REAR END CODES HELP!!!!!!!!!
Okay, I have a rear end for my 69 that I have no idea what it is besides a 10 bolt GM. The # is CPO 080107
I have no way to decode this, so could someone help me out, or tell me where to find it? I counted the gears and came up with a ratio of 2.64, but I don't know how right that was. Also, I believe the rear could be from a 70 Chevy pickup 3500 or C-10. Thanks for any help, I can't find it anywhere!!!!

I can't help ya with the code; but you shouldn't need a gasket. True, the gasket's better, and I use one too, but you can also use RTV to make a gasket. Permatex's ultra-copper "make a gasket" tube (like RTV but a few $$ more) should work great for that. In fact Permatex used to make an "Ultra Copper Gasket Sealer" that I would smear on the rear axle cover gasket... they stopped making it tho
