Recal on 92 Bird
Was there a recall on the 92 Firebirds for something to do w/ the gas filler cap or something? I thought I remember reading something about that....and I have a faint gas smell......if so, how would I find out if mine's been taken in for it?

I think this is what you are talking about. It was in the FAQ section:
Q: What is the purpose of the "fuel filler neck" recall?
A: General Motors has determined that certain 1991-92 Firebird/Camaro model vehicles fail to conform to the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 301, "Fuel System Integrity." These vehicles could exhibit cracks or "pin holes" at the fuel filler neck solder joint. This could result in fuel odor or fuel leakage. If an ignition source was present, fuel leakage resulting from this condition could result in a vehicle fire. Contact your dealer about this recall.

OK, so i called the local Pontiac dealer and there were 2 recalls on my car, and guess what...neither of them had been claimed!!! So now, I get to go have FREE stuff replaced on my car...that kicks @$$....hell, i'd have even been happy to get a new ashtray cover...anything as long as it's free. So I've got to make an appointment now, take it in and I get not only a new something to do with the gas tank..BUT I also get a new Shifter cable....
