Distributor

distributor question i have a 1985 305camero when im running down the road it is missing ive replaced the spark plugs spark plug wires rotor and distributor cap and ive set the timming now im wondering if it could be the distrubter itself or maybe the coil and can i replace the distrubter with the coil allready in the distrubtor or do i have to go back to distrubter with coil mounted on the same bracket as the egr relay the car is multi port fuel injected

sorry not much of a car machnic

Sounds like ignition module, located inside distributor under rotor. Parts stores can test them, but I never bothered since new part is like $35. Make sure to use the dielectric grease that it comes with per instructions. New distributors expensive, check on the igntion module and the pick up coil inside the distributor first.

BTW - this is the V6 section, your car is a V8 if it's a 305.
