Well, I have to buy two new tires for my 87 Firebird, and the paint job has covered up the tire sizes found on the door. I think they read 215/65R15 is the recommended.
What is the size on the door, and what do you guys recommend???

That is what I have on mine. I think that is pretty much the standard size for a base camaro/firebird 86 and after.

Reccomended I've seen 205/65r15 and 215/65r15, and as far as what will actually fit on my car (possibly yours, no promises), front 205/70r15 (BF-G Touring T/As (20 bucks mildly used (including mount/balance), closest size), look a little more filling with that extra 10mm of tire radius, but barely clear fenders (1/4 inch), rub upon bottoming out, etc..), rear 215/75r15 light truck tires (Cheapius Maximus, extra 22mm of tire radius, really fills rear fender, no rubs (but I've got hi-jackers back there too, so I can't promise no rubs on a stock suspension), looks pretty good personally, but.. ehh.. converts your rear to an effective of 3.72:1 and bumps your speedo accuracy off 6%.. what can I say, they were the cheapest I could get =P)

I've got stock 215/65/15's on front and 255/60/15's on rear, all BFG Radial T/A's. I like the way it looks and so did the guy that put them on at the shop.

I agree w/ Brian, I have the 235/60r15's on my car. I have firehawk ss20's on my car, and they are great. They look awesome too. I think I saw somewhere that on our cars, that was an option from the factory, as well. Im gonna be selling those rims pretty soon, with the tires, in search for a set of 91-92 z28 rims. Oh, and I dont remember if I mentioned this, I had talked earlier about how I was going to paint my car, and said I was gonna leave it stock. Well, I just bought some 91rs ground effects, so they will be put on there soon, once I find a resonable price for a complete paint job.
Sweet...
