Burnt wire, What is it?

I've had a miss in acceleration for some time now that nobody could figure out. I found a burnt wire but I don't know what it is. Anbody know what wire this is? In the pic it is the top one, I taped it to another wire to keep it off that box dealy.

Here are a couple more pics:

I figured out what it is now, it connects to the throttle, is this a wire that I can replace myself or should I have someone else do it for me and pay the big bucks for labor? If I do it myself how do I replace it?

I'm jealous of your clean firewall! Anyway, that's the cable from the gas pedal... you could do the job yourself, it wouldn't be that hard. The hard part would be lying on your back by the gas pedal trying to get the old cable out & new one in. Do they even make that accelerator cable anymore?

Thanks for the info. How would I go about removing the old cable?

Ummm, a bad accelerator cable will not cause a miss while accelerating.....

Yeah, I figured that out from another board. I don't know what is causing the miss. B/f it started this is what I had replaced, plugs, wires, 3 months later cap and rotor. The miss happens only after the car warms up. It kinda shakes the car too. I've had 3 different mechanics look at it and they all said there is nothing wrong. Oh I also had a new fuel filter put in during all this and nothing happened. I used injector cleaner and nothing happened. What could it be?
