how tough is it to pass emissions in Phoenix?

how tough is it to pass emissions in Phoenix?
I just completed a move from texas to Phoenix, Az. 
So far it seems like a pretty cool place I see a lot more thirdgens driving around. One of my budddies told me I had to get an emissions test next time I register my car. 
Is the test here as tough as the one in cali or is this one a little easier to pass?

NOPE,
Phoenix is AS TOUGH as California.
Found out from a guy, who tried to get his MG to pass.
When ya get to town, ask around for a "friendly" smog station.
Good luck, it's a whole new ball game, from Texas.

These cars can really shine when operating correctly, as the factory made them be.
If ya wanna really cheat, do as I did, slip in a 3.4 long block and don't say a thing!
