I'm going to be getting a 2.8 MPFI Cam for $25. It's a reground one, but, that price includes lifters.
What was a surprise is that the cam profiles for the 2.8 from model year 1985 design specs, to model year, 1992, 3.1 design specs, is that they are the same cam.
GM Performance Parts catalogs, also lists this 2.8/3.1 cam, as their performance cam, for upgrading on my 1985 S-10 Blazer 2.8 engine.
This should really wake up my old 211,500 mile 2.8 engine in that truck!
Wish I could go MPFI, with the truck!
Anyone know of a better value out there for a cam?

Wow, how the heck did they regrind the cam for only $25? Actually how the heck can they regrind a cam to get it back to original specs? Do they weld metal onto each worn-down lobe, and grind it down again? Just curious...

Correct on your thought.
I was given incorrect PRICE, tho!
It's (now) $55, lifters not included. No, they do not sell a $5.00 timing chain.
SO......
I'm just gonna do a head swap.
Atleast I know I'm saving $700!
Yet, I'm so excited!! Woopee!
Or that money saved does for the tranny or tranny rebuild kit.
And I MAY be learing how to rebuild a tranny.
