ok heres the deal (88RS 2.8L) ok when i start it up and drive it runs great then after driving for like 5-10minutes there is this noise that sounds like its coming from theexhaust it like...how to explain this...stutters...its runs fine then its like a buckin noise...hope u can understand that...what is it....clogged cat convert, head gasket, fuel filter???what?

 

maybe a loose heat shield for the noise... Maybe a clogged veter.

 

If you can describe the noise more acurately it would make for a simple diagnosis.

Can you descibe the noise a little further:

Does it go "clunkity, clunkity, clunkity..."

or
"chirp, chirp, chirp, chirp....."

or
"ding, ding, ding, ding, ding, ding..."
or
"bopida, bopida, bopida, bopida...."

or
"dip, dip, dip, dip, dip, dip, dip, dip, boom, boom, boom, boom, sha na na naaa, sh na na na na, get a job..."

ok well picture this...this is the best i can describe it...you're driving and u have the foot on the gas and u can here ur exhaust then it like cuts off then on again and so forth its as if there was a silencer for a split second

 

When you say bucking noise, do you also mean that whole car bucks for a split second as if the fuel has been cut off? When was the last time the car has had a complete tune-up?

 

no the car doesn't buck itself..tomorrow i will drive the car and explain eveeryone and possibly record the noise for u
