I wired mine from the wire going directly into the back of the fan. A wire from your battery to a switch, then from the switch to the back of the fan. Easy.

Here ya go Graeme!
Needed....1 toggle switch,a wire splicing connector and wire.

On my 2.8 it has a fan switch on the passenger head near the firewall. It will have 1 wire connected. This is a ground wire for the relay.
Splice "your" wire to this fan switch wire.Run the new wire inside to where you will mount your toggle.Connect "your" wire to the toggle.Connect a shorter piece of wire to the toggle and ground the other end.

What this will do is let your fan run as it would normaly with the toggle switched off. When you want the fan on just switch the toggle on,it will kick the relay on, thus turning your fan on.
I did mine this way because I don't need the fan running all the time. When I'm in town I switch my toggle on.When I'm at the track I switch it on.When I'm driving on the highway at 55 I turn it off.If the temp gets high enough to turn the fan on it will as it normaly would.

Mine is one the passenger head.On the corner closest to the firewall. The sensor is screwed into the head with 1 wire connected to it.That wire is a ground.Use a toggle switch to ground that wire and your in business.Besure you don't cut it,just splice into it.
