Isn't the stock size for you P205/70r15? That's a tall & skinny tire... not too good for handling. A P205/70r15 is 8.2 inches wide, and 26.48 inches tall.
You can change to a P215/65r15 (8.6 inches wide, 26.18 inches tall), or a P225/60r15 (9 inches wide, 25.8 inches tall) tire without affecting your speedometer that much, or affecting tire-to-body clearance.
You could probably also squeeze P235/60r15's (9.4 inches wide, 26.28 inches tall) underneath, but the inside of your front tires might rub the car.
I ran P245/60r15's (9.8 inches wide, 26.76 inches tall) on the BACK of my car, on the factory rims, without any clearance problems. Keep in mind that the wider of a tire you get, the more "rolling friction" you get, and the harder the engine has to work to get you rolling. I'm really considering ditching my current P275/60r15 (11 inches wide, 28.2 inches tall) for thinner P245/60's or P255/60's...
