Doing the cam and rocker amrs next week, question about the a/c condenser though
anything special i should know?, the only thing I see in the cam swap that is hard would be the a/c condenser, which according to the haynes manual it has to be decompressed and then recharged. is there anyway to go around that I just had my a/c redone.

to avoid having to recharge and decharge the compressor, you'll have to leave all the hoses hooked to it and not disconnect any of them......this will be tricky, becuz you'll have to keep it suspended outta your way while installing the cam and whatnot

make sure you properly set the valve lash individually for each arm

HOW I SUGGEST YOU SO THAT IS TO USE A COMPRESSION GAUGE AND The CORRECT SPARK PLUG FITTING.
Turn ove the engine, adjust to get max compression, twist a bit more, notice you get NO COMPRESSION, then do it again, to get max compression.
IT IS THE GUARANTEED 100% SURE THING WAY TO DO IT!
These valves are flakey, unlike a smalll block chevy you can adust by feel and running the engine then tighten down, then slap on the valve cover.
ON OUR V-6, you cannot do that.
You can only adjust ONCE, then MUST reassemble the intake (two piece part).
SO YA GOTTA MAKE IT RIGHT!
I've done it this way three times and each time it's PERFECT!
A very cost effective time saving way to do this mission ONCE and correct!
TO REMOVE VALVE COVERS YOU MUST REMOVE THE INTAKE SET UP.
If you figure out another way, educate me.
I wasted three days (gas, gaskets and effort) working with one that swore up and down do it his way.
Oh, I guess I was wrong!

IIRC, you should be able to lift the condensor out of the way just enough for the cam. When I did the 2.8/2.8 swap, we yanked the whole a/c system as one unit without cracking a fitting open. We put it in his garage, yanked the old motor, installed the new, and then lifted the whole a/c system back into the car. You need two people, one on the driver's side to lift the compressor and one end of the condensor, and one on the passenger side to wiggle the evaporator out of the box on the firewall. The cover to the evaporator box is very fragile; dont' muscle it...
