MSD coil issues?
I replaced the stock coil on my 3.1 with an MSD from Summit(replaced the cap and rotor too). My car died recently- just stopped and would not fire. After much digging by my mechanic, he tells me the coil is no good. We then pulled the distributor cap and the central post that contacts the rotor is GONE! There is just a black place where it used to be. Has anyone else had a coil burn out their distributor cap like that?

Re: MSD coil issues?
I ran a msd cap and rotor on mine for quite some time with no issues. If you didn't have those from msd, I think they were for a 4.3 v6 but were the same thing.

Re: MSD coil issues?
I will post a photo of the cap when I get the car back on Monday. The computer had a short in it too, apparently. Weird that the computer, coil AND distributor cap would fail at the same time- anyone see a connection?
