V6 to V8 fuel pump

V6 to V8 fuel pump

hi i have a 1989 v6 2.8l fuel injected firebird my v6 fuel pump went out and i had to put a v8 camaro fuel pump in it will the v8 fuel pump give my car more speed or hp?

The injectors will only flow what they are rated at. Any excess fuel will be returned to the tank.

the v6 and v8 pumps are identical as far as i know.

the only pump that would be different is the tbi pump whihc only has a presure of 15 psi

And usually the V8 pumps are cheaper than the V6 ones. Whats up with that?

The regulator determines the pressure, not the pump.

They both use the same pump, it flows around 190 LPH.



Pretty much all the MPFI/TPI cars from the 80's/90's use the same pump aside from the Sy/Ty, TTA/GN, L67's and other boosted factory cars.
