new O2 sensor help.

so it took me a day and a half, pliers, hammer, propane torch, wrench, WD40, PB blaster, shirt, a bunch of cuts, and alot of patience but i finally got the old O2 off. and im trying to put the new one on but it doesnt seem to wanna thread on right. is is supposed to go right in easy or does it take some muscle?? i dont wanna mess up the thread and have to take another 2 days to take this one off next time.

Mine always threaded in nicely. But I also never had a 02 sensor so hard to get out. I know they can be PITA's though when theres 20 years of rust on the pipe.

If you have a big tap/die set you could try and run that iin the threads and clean them up?

would a steel brush mess up the thread? i doubt they metal would be that soft. even a toothbrush maybe?

na you wont mess those threads up with a brush. Make sure you threading it in straight.

i already brushed it with no luck. still doesnt wanna go in right. WTF!!!! this is really starting to bug me.

Get a spark plug thread chaser. The big end is the same size as the threads on the O2S. Clean the threads up good and then put in the new O2S .
