Transmission Compatibility
Hey all,
I'm trying to figure out which transmissions are compatible with my 1983 2.8L V6. I was looking at this one, which is from a 86, and looking at this site , and it looks like 83-87 had more or less the same trans. Could someone confirm that that transmission would work in my 83?

Transmission: 6-speed
Axle/Gears: 4.41

Other than the gear ratios, it's the same trans. Just make sure you have the right speedometer gears in the replacement as you do in your current one. Swap them if needed.
And it would probably be a good idea to replace the clutch at the same time.
