The oil pressure on my 3.1 has got me asking questions. When i turn the car on (cold start) the guage shoots up to the second line and doesnt move. Evn when the car is at opetating temp its still in the same spot. Also when i WOT or accelarate the guague doesnt move. Its suppose to increase right? Can anyone help? Car runs good

Re: 3.1 Oil pressure?

I've never noticed my oil pressure going up and down depending on acceleration or cold start. But, if it's really cold out, it takes a second before the gauge gets up to its normal level.

The Oil Pressure switch on these cars are known to go bad. It's on the side of the engine next to the oil filter. The pressure switch is around $15 depending on where you buy it.
