turns over but won't start

turns over but won't start

I have an 89 camaro rs 2.8. Car started and when i went to turn my headlights on it died. Itdid that twice and now i have no lights anywhere and motor justs turns over but will not fire. Any help would be appreciated as it is my only means of transportation. Thanks in advance

Done any work to the car recently? Sounds like you have a marginally charged or bad battery. If the battery is good then your alternator may not be charging the battery and may be marginal or bad. Check them with a voltmeter or have them checked by an auto parts store. Good luck.

Think it might be my hot wire that runs from the battery to the starter. It is in rough shape do to heat from the manifoldand i think it's grounding out. Have a new one that i wrapped in heat tape. Going to finish changing it in the morning will keep u posted.
