I was out last night on the highway and decided to give it my best and I got my car all the way up to 109mph (not an easy task) and then it felt like I hit a HUGE wall of air and instantly slowed down about 3mph when I know I didnt hit an air wall. But my air/fuel gauge stopped reading when whatever happened did happen. I thought my car cut off but everything seemed to be running fine. What happened at that speed?

 

Speed limiter.

My Dakota would do that everytime I got it to 115mph. It would cruise at 114 all day long but the moment I hit 115 the computer shut the fuel off untill I dropped back down to 110, then it turned the fuel back on.

 

Thought our speed limiter didn't kick in until 117?

 

Could my speedo be off some? It deff felt like the speed limiter kicked in. I thought my car shut off at first.
