2.8 shuts itself off
Hi guys,
Asking for a friend who has an 85 2.8 V6 Firebird, he has been experiencing this problem for a while and cant drive the car. It wouldnt start, he's been round the entire ignition system and replaced nearly all of it, car ran but it shuts itself off after about 5 minutes.
Its like someone has turned the key off. He said a mobile mechanic came and got it running again after replacing a relay ?? but he never said where this relay was. But its doing the same thing again, runs fine for a few minutes then just shuts itself off. He also says if he leaves the car for a few hours it will start up again but keeps cutting out after its been running for a bit.
sounds heat related perhaps ?
