HELP

So, I am a moron and got a 3.1 out of an izuzu swapped everything over from my 2.8, then realized the engine mounts and starter holes were different because the izuzu was awd. Is there a conversion kit or reasonable way to fabricate something to make it work or should I write off the $400 I spent on the engine and gaskets and get a rwd one?

3.1l out of a Isuzu? That's not a gm engine right.. then it's not going to work. I'm sure with major fabrication it could work but would cost less just to try and sell what you have and then get a 3.1l gen 1 iron head rwd gm engine

I think in 1989 gm let them use the rwd gm 2.8l. But in the 90s I didn't know of gm being in a izuzu. Expecially a 3.1l but then again I could be completely wrong. Bump for ya.

Re: HELP

Izuzu used a bunch of GM stuff in trucks (pickups and the Trooper). I know that they used GM TBI hardware and ECMs. I can't say about the starter mounting and engine mounts, but they are minor changes to a casting.

If I were to replace a 2.8l or 3.1l engine in an f-body I'd go with the '93 - '95 3.4l f-body engine.
